SN100CV wins the " Welding Notable Invention Award "

NIHON SUPERIOR's silver-free, lead-free solder, SN100CV, was praised as a notable welding technology for development of the industry and received the "" Welding Notable Invention Award "" from the Japan Welding Engineering Society. The award ceremony was held at Tokyo Garden Palace on June 13.

SN100CV is a lead-free solder alloy in which Bi and Ge are added to the basic Sn-Cn-Ni composition. The product exhibits high reliability because the joint strength does not decrease after joining, even under hot temperature conditions. Since its melting point is lower than that of the Sn-Cn-Ni composition, it can be used for joints in not only electronic devices but also a wide range of devices, such as devices with solder joints through which large currents flow and devices that are exposed to high temperatures. In addition, the product does not contain silver, which is expensive. The product can thus contribute to the industry through cost reduction and to the promotion of decarbonization by enabling mounting under low temperatures, which has led to its recognition as a valuable technological contribution.

We intend to further our efforts to expand the adoption of our products to a wider variety of applications.
