Carbon Reduction Journey of Nihon Superior Malaysia Factory
We are committed to embarking on a decarbonization journey to mitigate the impacts of global climate change which is corresponding with one of SDG goals on urgent action to combat climate change and minimize its disruptions.
GREEN HOUSE GAS (GHG) EMISSSIONS DATA
In 2023, Nihon Superior Malaysia factory achieved CO2e emissions reduction of 65.25% (per unit of revenue) against base year 2015.
CARBON REDUCTION TARGET
Our CO2e emissions reduction (per unit of revenue) target by 2025 from the base year is 50%.
CARBON REDUCTION INITIATIVES & ACTIVITIES
We are aiming at continuous Green House Gas (GHG) emission reduction by implementing the following energy saving activities and use of renewable energy sources in factory operation.
・Carry out electricity and diesel conservation activities in the manufacturing process to reduce the consumption wherever it is possible.
・Gradually replace furnaces using diesel fuel to electric furnaces.
・Investment in energy efficient manufacturing machineries.
・Installing layer of insulation on office glass partitions, glass windows and ceiling.
・Replace conventional type lights with LED lights within factory buildings.
・Switching to renewable energy sources of solar energy for a significant portion of electricity supply in factory operation since Oct 2022. Significant CO2 avoidance is achieved via this initiative.
