LF-Z3

  • For joining heated wire glass (automobile)
  • Silver-free / Silver leaching prevention

Ideal for bonding metal terminals to heated wire glass (automobile)

LF-Z3 is a solder that forms a stable Zn-Ag alloy layer and prevents silver leaching. It can be used for bonding metal terminals to heated wire glass (automobile), which is very sensitive to silver leaching.

Soldering metal terminals to heated wired glass (automobile)

Soldering metal terminals to heated wired glass (automobile)

In heated wire glass for automobiles, a metal terminal is soldered to a silver electrode that is formed on a glass substrate. As regular lead-free solders cause silver leaching, which dissolves the silver electrode, manufacturers continue to use lead-containing solders. LF-Z3 makes it possible to achieve lead-free soldering.

Hub dynamo soldering (bonding of dissimilar metals)

Hub dynamo soldering (bonding of dissimilar metals)

LF-Z3 has been adopted for soldering bicycle and motorcycle hub dynamos (bonding aluminum wires to tin-plated brass terminals).
